| I have been married 15 years and my marriage has been going downhill for many years now. I 100% LOVE my wife but I do not think that the love me any longer. She confessed about 3 years ago that she had a secret bank account from when she had planned to leave me 4 years earlier (7 years ago total). We have sex on a planned schedule (weekly) but she puts in no effort. She just lies in bed and says "make it quick". It's actually painful since I feel disconnected and lonely even when we are having sex. She has not permitted me to touch her in any romantic way in a long time and for a while now this even includes when we are having sex.
I have two children and do not want to put them through something like this, but I also cannot live like this for the rest of my life. I do not know what to do. I have tried going to a marriage councilor but she walked out and refuses to go back. She does not acknowledge any problems in our marriage. I think that this is denial and that she has fallen out of love with me.
I very badly miss being touched, loved and feeling the bond of romance. I want to feel the spark of a simple kiss and the care that comes with holding another person in your arms. I feel trapped in a marriage where nothing I can do will bring this back. I love my children and feel like I am being selfish since I know that and discussion of a divorce could rip their lives apart.
I am not sure what I am asking here. Is this how it starts? Am I supposed to be doing something more? Am I over reacting? or should I just hope that things get better? I just don't know what to do. |

Sorry to hear this. The fact that she "confesses" to stashing away money is a good sign. If she had a plan to leave any time soon, she likely wouldn't have told you about that. You said she won't go for counselling any more... consider going back just yourself. Good luck! |

I have been married for four years and my husband stopped touching me two years ago. He told me he isn't interested in being intimate with me anymore. He claims that he doesn't know why. This has tore my heart in two!! I don't know what else to do. I have tried everything! I really love him and don't want to end our marriage. He keeps telling me that he will change but never does. We are always alone, however, he always comes up with excuses as to why he doesn't have anything to do with me. I even went as far as to have a breast augmentation to try to make him want me more, to no avail. I am clueless. I really need some advice as to what to do next. I do not have a job right now. I am getting ready to start, though, at the local jail here in town as a Corrections Officer. Please, someone tell me what I should do. I have limited resources and need some help. |
