Iven: if you know in your heart that she is not the one for you then by all means let her know that. It is not fair to either one of you to stay in a relationship built on lies. Eventually, it will blow up and in a bad way. It is better now to sit down with the lady and let her know that you do not want to be in a long term relationship with her even though you may like her very much and that there has to be a guy out there for her that give his heart to her as she so richly deserves. Be diplomatic with her but it would be better to let her down now rather than later after her feelings get even stronger. |

I've been here too. Personally speaking, once I came to realize that I could never return or feel the same way for her as she did for me... I felt like anything after that was a lie on my part - leading her on to believe something that was not true.
Tell her. Be honest with her. As time passes and she looks back on it, she'll know you did the best thing by her.
It's not easy to hurt somebody, but honesty is the best policy. Better to hurt her with the truth now, than for her to realize you've been lying later. |
